A round up of 2016
What a start to our charity. We began at the beginning of 2016 and it has been a roller coaster ride ever since. We started off with a crowdfunding event where we raised around £5000 with our Findacure partners.
We have had people running for us, having their hair shaved off, a fantastic Christmas party with 100 guests from all over the UK and many other events. CHI children are just superheros and have joined in with their own events, holding cake sales, meeting Minions, raising awareness in magazines and attending their school prom etc.
Waitrose in Rickmansworth chose us to be a part of their fund raising and our very own Sarah and Liam Dearman were presented with a cheque for £430 for us.
We took part in the Starbucks Red Cup Cheer challenge just before Christmas. We thank each and every one of you who tweeted your photos and retweeted many more. We certainly made some 'noise' on Twitter. We are guaranteed £500 from Starbucks and sometime in January we will find out if we were noisy enough to have been awarded £1000.
Patients at Great Ormond Street under the CHI team said a sad farewell to Professor Khalid Hussain who has gone to pastures new in Doha and then welcomed Dr Pratik Shah in his new role which is very exciting for all concerned.
A young man called Marc Hillis from Glasgow, Scotland created our wonderful logo and we launched our merchandise
which we are so proud of.
Please do get in contact if you would like to enquire about any of it. We have mugs, keyrings, wristbands, t-shirts, pens etc.
We really love our colourful logo.
We started organising our first conference, please click here to find out more and book your place.
We have had book sales and even our very own Grand National sweepstake which was great fun.
A wonderful lady called Yvette is running in our very first official London Marathon place this year please all get behind Yvette and please sponsor her if you can.
One of our super CHI mums created A Lily bit of love for HI (take a look at her facebook page). She raises awareness and funds for charities including ours. Her Christmas decorations were amazing and she creates all sorts of products throughout the year.
The trustees would like to thank each and every one of you who has raised funds for our charity and those who support us in every way. We all get involved to benefit the children with CHI and their families.
We wish you a happy new year for 2017 and may it bring happiness and good health to all.
